Why we need Magisk Root?

How to install Magisk

It is easy to install Magisk. Just follow the steps given below.

Magisk creates a boot image backup in /data/stock_boot_.img.gz in case you get a bootloop and need to restore your phone to working condition if something goes wrong.

Install TWRP

      1. Enable USB Debugging in your phoneenable usb debugging
      2. Download 15 seconds ADB Installer
        1. Run it
        2. Press “y” each time you are prompted
        3. Finish. Window will be closed after installation.
      3. Download TWRP for your device.
      4. Open folder where TWRP image is downloaded.
      5. Shift + Right click inside the window.
      6. Click on “Open command window here
      7. Connect your phone to your computer
      8. Type
        adb reboot bootloader
      9. Once your phone reboots into bootloader, type
        fastboot flash recovery twrp-2.8.x.x-xxx.img

        twrp-2.8.x.x-xxx.img is the file name of the TWRP recovery image. Just type “twrp” and press Tab key to get the full name. It will do.

  1. Once the installation completes, type
    fastboot reboot

With Custom Recovery

If you’re still not rooted(which is default for most of the users)

Without Custom Recovery

Via Magisk Manager (Only support v14.0+):

  • This method does not need root, and also does not require a custom recovery.
  • Install the latest Magisk Manager
  • If you’re planning to flash the patched boot image through ODIN, go to Settings > Update Settings > Patched Boot Output Format, and select .img.tar. For normal users leave it as the default .img
  • Press Install > Install > Patch Boot Image File, and select your stock boot image file
  • Magisk Manager will now patch your boot image, and store it in
    [Internal Storage]/MagiskManager/patched_boot.img[.tar]
  • Copy the patched boot image to your PC. If you can’t fine it via MTP, you can pull the file with ADB:
    adb pull /sdcard/MagiskManager/patched_boot.img[.tar]
  • Flash the patched boot image to your device and reboot. If using fastboot:
    fastboot flash boot /path/to/patched_boot.img
